Spring 1998

I woke up this morning in a place of sadness. She came to me in my sleep, to remind me of how much fun we had together when she was a little girl.

Being a father gave me the chance to be a child again and to see the world as the amazing and wonderful place she saw it as.

Being a father let me experience the world as a child once more. I could be a little boy once again; I could feel once more my true self and remember the wonder I had, the plans in my head for the life I wanted to live.

A child can hold a simple toy and imagine an entire world around it.

Rehtaeh gave that wonderful playfulness back to me.

Being her father was the great joy of my life.

I loved being a dad.
