In Loving Memory of Rehtaeh Anne Parsons

by Glen Canning

Well, today is here again, and again I’m breaking into pieces.

I don’t have a poem or story about loss, or grief, or love. I just have this photo I looked at this morning and thought of what I would give to sit on that bench beside you for just one minute.

I would give everything Rae.

Rehtaeh Anne Parsons

You made a difference in this world.

Sleep in peace my beautiful baby. I miss you so much.

I have followed Rehtaeh’s story all along, and my heart always breaks for her family.
Those that committed this awful crime against your beautiful daughter were certainly not made pay, and that is so wrong.
Sending love to you all.

I hope you have plenty of people around you who love you and in whom you can find solace. Much love to you and to them.

Although here for only a short time, her light shone brightly. In her short time here, she affected more people than most do with a full life span.
